Over the years I've had buyer's want to do their final walk through on the way to closing, some want to do it the night before and then surprisingly there are a few who don't want to do one at all.
When it comes time to schedule the final walk through for my clients a story I heard along time ago from a fellow Realtor pops into my head.
A
buyer chose to do his final walk through the night before closing.
Upon arriving at the house he discovered the house was completely empty
except for a few boxes in the garage. The buyer's agent contacted the
listing agent who stated the boxes would be removed before closing.
Later
that evening the seller's son picked up the remaining boxes.
Since the boxes were in the garage he backed his truck in for easy
loading.
Upon completion the son
hopped into his truck, but
instead of putting it into drive he accidentally put it in reverse and
proceeded to drive right into the wall. Even though he wasn't going
very fast his truck caused damage to the kitchen on the only side of
the wall.
Not wanting to get into
trouble with his parents he
kept quite and they didn't noticed the damage to his truck.
The
day of closing arrived, both parties signed
all the documents and the buyer was officially the new owner of a home
that needed a kitchen remodel.
After hearing this story
a million questions went through my head regarding it's trueness, but
the bottom line is anything can happen.
