It's never too late......

It all started a week ago as my husband and I sat at a child's birthday party together.  After being married for over a decade and having two children I found out something about my husband that I never knew before.

As we sat together at the bowling alley watching the kids have fun, my husband and I discussed his upcoming birthday.  During this conversation I found out that he never had a birthday party.  I had a few birthday parties that I still remember to this day and couldn't believe my husband never got to experience a party just for him.

So I decided to throw him a birthday party and only had one week to put it all together.  I wanted to keep it a surprise, but with a 10 & 6 year old on the planning committee I wasn't sure if it was going to be possible.

I had so much to do in preparation for the party and vowed not to log on to AR, but I soon found myself commenting on a blog.  Yes, I couldn't stay away and made one little comment, but quickly closed my laptop.  Why is AR so addicting?

Originally I told my husband that our close friends with their children, which totaled four people, were coming over.  However as I was cooking enough food for an army I could no longer keep the secret.  I, the mother and wife, let the cat out of the bag about the "surprise" party, not the 10 & 6 year old.

It turned out to be one of the most rewarding nights of my life.  My husband was grateful and finally had a birthday party, with friends and cake!
