This morning I received a call from a cash buyer who was standing outside of a property and wanted to see it now. I explained prior to showing any property I will need proof of funds and after I verify those funds we can schedule an appointment.
Mr. Casher Buyer's response: "how about you show me the property, then I'll show you proof of funds."
We spoke for a few more minutes and he just wasn't listening, so I wished him the best of luck and hung up.
I don't care if a buyer is spending $100,000 or 1 million I will never ever meet a stranger at a property without receiving proof of funds first.
How do I know who I'm meeting? Maybe I've watched one too many Forensic Files episodes, but my safety comes first, not a paycheck. Plus, I'm not going to give a complete stranger access to a sellers home.
