Over the past month I've seen so many pictures in the MLS of homes with holidays decorations still up and I'm not talking about hearts and cupids. I'm talking about Christmas trees, stockings, lights and garland.
Now I don't expect everyones decorations to disappear on January 1st, but we are now in the middle of February and I'm still seeing these types of pictures in the MLS. Nothing says "old listing" like the ones with these types of holiday decorations in them.
If you are a seller and your home still has holiday decorations up take them down or if you're thinking about selling make sure these items are packed away and if you are a listing agent take the hour or two out of your day to retake pictures of your listings without all of the holiday stuff.

Letter writing isn't a thing of the past when I'm working with prospective tenants.
I recently caught an episode of Designed to Sell, another HGTV real estate show and at the end of the episode the seller's give an up date. In this case the seller's stated they have had several "successful open houses, but no offers."
