Do you understand all the Real Estate Lingo?
This evening my husband checked the mail and saw a Realtor Postcard with recent neighborhood sales: Property Address, Size Description, List Price, Sale Price & DOM.
My husband asked me "What is DOM?" What, you're married to a Real Estate agent and you don't know what that means? Alright, that's the thought that ran through my brain, but "Days On Market" was what came out of my mouth.
To my husbands defense he knew it had something to do with how long the property was on the market, but he didn't know what DOM stood for.
I think as agents we often assume our clients know all of our Real Estate lingo: DOM, GFE, BPO, REO. I myself fall into this group of "assumption" sometimes. I think it's a friendly reminder that not every buyer and seller purchased Real Estate Lingo & Abbreviations 101.
