Two months ago I received a call from the Compassionate Pug Rescue asking if I was interested in becoming a foster parent and while I never fostered an animal I was happy to help. Some of you know we already have a BIG Pug, Ace, and our other dog, Molly, passed away almost a year ago, so I felt it was a great time to open our doors for a Pug in need and that he was.
When I picked up our foster Pug, Dexter, he was infested with fleas and that was just the beginning. Over the course of two months we discovered he had epilepsy, a thyroid condition, a skin condition, an eye infection, kennel cough, had two ear infections on two separate occasions and was partially blind. Almost weekly I was at the vet for one reason or another and every time I was there it seemed another problem was discovered.
However through it all this guy was HAPPY and has made us so happy. I pretty much knew when I picked him up I was in trouble and while I tried not getting attached, well.....it was impossible. So it's official, Dexter has found his forever home with US! While he has life long problems that will require daily medicine, drops and washes we know we can give him a loving home that he deserves.
So I'm proud to announce the newest Gibson.....Dexter Charlie Gibson
